Wenzori Moody joined Roanoke Ballet Theatre in 2019 as a trainee. She began her training at Triangle Academy of Dance in Cary, NC under Annette Hagopian and was also a member of Carolina Youth Ballet. During this time, she received training from Margaret Severin-Hansen, Richard Krusch, and Jan Burkhard of Carolina Ballet. Wenzori also performed as a student guest artist in Carolina Ballet’s The Nutcracker, Romeo & Juliet, and The Sleeping Beauty. She has attended multiple summer intensives including Carolina Ballet, The Washington Ballet, and The Kirov Academy in Washington, D.C. where she was privileged to work with many renowned artists including Megan Fairchild of New York City Ballet, Ashley Bouder of New York City Ballet, Michael Vernon, and Evan McKie of The National Ballet of Canada. During her time with Carolina Youth Ballet, she performed various feature roles including Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, and Sugar Plum Fairy and Clara in The Nutcracker. During her time with Roanoke Ballet Theatre, Wenzori has performed various roles including the Canary Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, Marzipan and Chinese Variations in The Nutcracker, and Pas de trois in La Bayadere. Wenzori was promoted to the company at the beginning of the 2021 season.
