Tuition Policies

School Year/General Class Tuition Policies:

• All accounts must be on auto payment, and your card will be auto-drafted on the registration site.

• Tuition for your first month is due at time of registration.

• All students must be registered for the class to attend class. 

• If you are enrolling in the school year, there is a $35 registration fee. This registration fee is separate from the $35 summer registration fee. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

• The school year runs from mid-August – the end of May. Billing for tuition ends in May. If there are classes still being held in June for a particular school year, there is no tuition payment for June.

• Tuition is charged on a monthly basis. It is posted to accounts on the 1st of each month and is due (by auto payment) on the 5th of each month (or the next business day). Payments are not run on holidays.

• A $35 late fee is added through the Studio Pro system, automatically, on the day following the due date if a payment has not been processed or card is declined. The financially responsible parties must keep credit card information and contact information up to date. If a credit card is declined, the $35 late fee will be added to the existing tuition each month the card continues to be declined.

• August and December are prorated by 50% due to classes starting half-way through the month (Aug) and a half month of classes due to Nutcracker (Dec). All other months (besides Aug and Dec) during the school year are normal, 100% tuition amounts.

• Tuition is non-refundable. Missed classes, including inclement weather-related absences, global pandemics, and days when RBT is not in session, may be made up in equal dollar value classes within the same year.

• If RBT is mandated to be closed due to COVID or any other pandemic situation, all classes will resume on Zoom. Tuition is non-refundable and we will follow the same cancellation policy as stated above. 

• Each student is required to be enrolled/pay tuition for the first 3 months of classes following their enrollment, regardless of when they enrolled during the year. The financially responsible party is still obligated to fulfill their tuition commitment through the end of the first 3 months. After this point, if you wish to drop a class, please follow the steps below.

 

Cancelation/Dropping Classes:

• If you wish to drop/unenroll from a class, notice must be emailed to rbtoffice@roanokeballet.org 30 days prior to the dropping of the class. The 30 days is firm! Please do not just let your instructor know, your notice will only be accepted via email to the office. If less than 30 days, your account will be charged the following month's tuition. If you do not send notice, your account will continue to be charged tuition until we receive a 30-day notice.

 

Yearly Payments:

• If the financially responsible parties choose to pay YEARLY, they are responsible for payment for the entire school year, in one payment. Yearly tuition is non-refundable. There is a 10% discount for yearly payments of 8 months or more (due in Sept). Any less, and the discount will not apply.

 

Scholarships:

• All scholarship students are responsible for paying the full amount for registration fees, CYB fees, and production fees. Scholarships only encompass the student’s normal monthly tuition. More info on Scholarships can be found on our scholarship form (downloadable from our site).

 

Specific to Summer Tuition:

• If you are enrolling in summer classes, there is a $35 registration fee. This registration fee is separate from the $35 school year registration fee. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

• Summer tuition is paid by session and not by month, and must be paid prior to the session starting. Once paid, summer tuition is non-refundable 4 weeks or less from the session or classes starting.
